Day Three

The first ones to give this morning were my dogs for letting me sleep in until 8.  I am usually awakened at 6:30 by the hot breath and giant, wet nose of my basset hound Sebastian telling me it's time for his breakfast.  Today he waited until 8 to wake me and I very much appreciated his thoughtfulness.  In turn, I believe that he and Pippy Lou appreciated the small extra scoop of wet food that I gave to each of them.

I stopped by work this morning to drop off Red Velvet and Black and White Sprinkles cupcakes for Brett, Andy and Becky. Brett's favorite cupcake flavor is Red Velvet and Sprinkles makes the most delicious cupcakes in the world! You can see how happy they are about their cupcakes in the posted photo.  I noticed on our dry erase board that they had recorded the giving they had already done that morning and the additional planned giving for the rest of the day!  I was so excited to see their excitement and commitment to giving!  As Andy says-"let's do dis!"

Here is the list of giving for day 3:
  • Rob washed dishes and helped clean the kitchen.
  • My brother bought Rob and I breakfast.
  • Becky, Brett and Andy washed buckets for the sea lion crew.
  • Becky gave Bombi, our nineteen year old otter, a new fleece blanket for snuggling.
  • Andy, Becky and Brett had collectively gathered their few remaining complimentary tickets and gave me the opportunity to give them to a family that would not normally be able to visit the Park.
  • The Shouka staff did a meet and greet for our seasonal staff to give them the chance to meet and take pictures of Merlin and Shouka up close.
  • Brett gave Ella an outfit that matches the trainers outfits for the Shouka show, in Ella's size, so she can pretend to do the show at home with her stuffed Shouka.
  • Heather let a 15 year old girl who rescues Mustangs get an up close experience with the dolphins.
  • Rob bought Thai dinner for me tonight
An unexpected gift-

At breakfast my brother and I started talking about the funny experiences we've had with horses.  We started laughing really hard at all of the different memories.  Later in the day, as I chuckled about our conversation from earlier in the day, I thought about the true gift of laughter.  I think we've all shared the joy of side-splitting, impossible to breath, tears rolling down your cheeks laughter with someone.  I still enjoy the gift of the giggles remembering times of laughter that I've shared with my family and friends.  I hope your memories bring a little giggle to your day today!
